Answer: Insertion loss is typically around 0.2 dB or less per adapter with the ceramic zirconia sleeve. Return loss meets APC standard at 60 dB or higher. For GPON networks this is fine. One adapter will not impact your link budget noticeably. Make sure your connectors are clean before mating because dirt causes much more loss than the adapter itself.2026-02-22

Answer: Simplex means it handles one single fiber channel. It connects one fiber on one side to one fiber on the other side. Duplex adapters have two channels side by side for transmit and receive.
